About Us

Crib Farm was built of stone in the traditional
style, originally as a coaching inn for the many
packhorses and travellers who crossed the Pennines
from Lancashire to Yorkshire in the seventeenth
century. During this period it was called The Blue
Ball and must have been well known to the nearby
infamous Cragg Vale Coiners who were active in
clipping and forging gold coinage.

Later in 1815 it became a dairy farm, and today it
still offers a very warm welcome to the many
travellers who venture to this unspoilt region of West
Yorkshire. Set high on the hills above Luddenden
Foot, with panoramic views over the Calder Valley to
the distant Midgley Moors the farm provides a
comfortable and warm haven for both holidaymaker
and businessman a like.

Centralley based for both the Norths main airports
Manchester and Leeds/Bradford the farm is only
ten minutes drive from Halifax railway station and
the market town of Hebden Bridge.
There is easy access from the countries main motorway
network, leave the cross-pennine motorway, the M62,
either at junctions 21, 22 or 24.
